TB／TBLのStandard変更について：新旧対照表

きのうも紹介したように、TB／TBLのStandard変更はTICA Annual Board Meetingにおいて可決しました。

変更点の詳しい解説は改めて後日しようと思っていますが、とりあえず削除・追加が分かる変更案をアップしておきます。

◆新型コロナウイルス感染症の「5類移行」に伴い、これまでの「全数把握」による毎日の感染者数の発表は2023年5月8日（月）が最後となり、その後は全国5000の医療機関からの報告をもとに公表する「定点把握」に変わりました。

「Toybob」のCOATカラーは「Sealpoint only」です。

さらに、「Evenness of the body color and contrast with the points are more important than whiteness」とも書いてあります。

「Evenness」は「均一、均一さ」を意味しますが、THAI (TH)でも似たような記述が見られます。

TH Body Color：「Evenness of the body color and contrast with the points are more important than extreme whitenes」

一方、「Evenness」という単語が使われている猫種には、「ABYSSINIAN GROUP (AB/SO)」があり、逆説的ですが、「Ticking and Pattern Faults：Unevenness of ticking over body」となっていますから、「Evenness of ticking over body」が求められていると言えます。

プレゼン資料によると、「Toybob」のCOATの配点は25点、このうち「Texture」に10点、「Pattern」＋「Color」に10点が配分されています。残り5点は「Length」です。

プレゼン資料によると、COATの「Texture」は「Dense, resilient, not close lying, with developed undercoat. The topcoat is almost the same length as the undercoat」です。

「resilient」は「弾力性のある、弾力的な、復元力のある」を意味し、「not close lying」となっていますから、BGとは対象的な手触りと言えます。

もうひとつ、「Toybob」と対象的と言えば、COAT 「Texture」で「close lying」が求められているEGYPTIAN MAU (EM)かもしれません。

ちなみにEMで、Bronze and Black SilverのカラーCOATは「resilient, close-lying」、Black Smoke のカラーCOATは「fine, silky, close-lying」となっています。

「Toybob」に戻ると、「topcoat」と「undercoat」が「almost the same length」であることも特徴と言えるかもしれません。

これが「Toybob」のCOATの「dense」で「resilient」な手触りを支えていると言えるのではないでしょうか。

Toybobを特徴付けるBobtailですから、それなりに高い配点かと思ったのですが、プレゼン資料によると、Tailの配点は5点となっています。（※別途、18点を配した資料もあります）

どういう定義になっているかと言うと、以下のようになっています。

「Flexible, preferably composed of several kinks and curves in any combination, but may be also almost straight. Visible length is not less than 1 inch and not longer then 1/3 of the body length」－－。

ポイントとなりそうなのは、やはり長さかもしれません。

「Visible length」は「not less than 1 inch（=2.54cm）」で、しかも「not longer then 1/3 of the body length」となっています。

この時の「body length」は、プレゼン資料によると、首の付け根からお尻までですから、この長さを3等分したものより長くてはいけないということになります。



ちなみに、その他のBobtailの猫種の「Tail」はどうなっているか、参考までに載せておきます。

【AMERICAN BOBTAIL（ABT/ABS）】・・・10点
Tail: Short, with a minimum length of 1 inch actual bone. May extend to the hock, but not past it.

【JAPANESE BOBTAIL（JB/JBL）】・・・16点
Tail: The shape is straight or curved or angled; appears as pom-pom. The tail is usually carried upright when the cat is relaxed. The hair on the tail is somewhat longer and thicker than the body hair, growing outward in all directions to create a pom-pom or bunny-tail effect. The pom-pom appears to commence at the base of the spine, and camouflages the underlying bone structure of the tail. The tail bone is usually strong and rigid rather than jointed (except at the base), and may be either straight or composed of one or more curves and angles. The furthest extension of the tail bone from the body should be approximately 2 to 3 inches, even though it might be 4 or 5 inches long if it were straightened to its full length.

【KURILIAN BOBTAIL（KB/KBL）】・・・15点
Tail: Composed of one or more kinks or curves or any combination thereof, appearing as a pom-pom or brush. VISIBLE tail length with the coat is from 1.5 cm to 8 cm (59-3.15 inches) for the shorthair and up to 13 cm (5.12 inches) for the semilonghair. May be rigid or flexible or a combination of both (part rigid, part flexible). Size and shape of the tail should harmonize with the common appearance of the cat. When palpated, the tail consists of at least 2 vertebrae, with at least one kink or curve or any amount of combinations thereof. Palpated length of the tail is from 1.5 cm to 8 cm (59-3.15 inches), counting length of kinks and curves. The tail can be described as “snag”, “spiral” or “whisk”. The direction of the tail is not important.

【PIXIEBOB （PB/PBL）】・・・3点
Tail: Tail bone must be 2 inches minimum, maximum length to hock with leg extended. Articulated tail desirable, kinks and curls acceptable.
※1 inch or shorter DQ
　　Less than 2 inches Penalty
　　2 inches (approx. thumb length) to hock deseirable
　　Just below hock Penalty
　　Full-length DQ

プレゼン資料によると、HEADに続いて大きな配点を占めるのはBODYで、35点となっています。

この中で一番大きな割合を占めるのは「Torso」の10点です。

しかも、その記述もまた、かなり具体的です。

「Smaller than medium, compact and short, square form. Rib cage is broad.The back is almost straight. Sexual dimorphism is not very pronounced」－－。

後半に出てくる「Sexual dimorphism is not very pronounced」は難しそうな表現ですが、「Sexual dimorphism」は「性的二形」あるいは「性的二型」と訳します。

要はFemaleとMaleの性差による形態的な違いを意味します。

「pronounced」は「目立った、顕著な」という意味ですから、「Toybob」に関して言えば、FemaleとMaleの性差による違いは形態上、あまり目立たないということになります。

体重差はあっても、成猫のFemaleで2kgに満たない一方、成猫のMaleはだいたい2.27 kgですから、その差は270gということになります。

ちょっと大きめのFemaleと、ちょっと小さめのMaleでは外観上の区別は付かないかもしれません。



ちなみに、「Sexual dimorphism」という記述は現状、Kaomanee (KM)の「Standard」にだけ見られるもので、そこには以下のように書いてあります。

「the natural sexual dimorphism. (Males should typically be 8 to 11 pounds and may have slightly heavier boning than females. Females should typically be 6 to 8 pounds)」－－。

KMについても、体重差についての説明で使われていることが分かります。

HEADの中の「Profile」を見てみましょう。

HEADの中では5点とそんなに大きな比率を占めているわけではありませんが、その記述は他の猫種の「Profile」の記述と比べると、より具体的になっているような気がします。

Profile: Distinctly curved profile with a dip from the forehead to the nose at the eye-middle level. Definite stop is not allowed. Nose is medium in length. Bridge of the nose is slightly curved.Forehead is full, not flat

冒頭に出てくる「Distinctly」は「はっきりと」「明瞭に」という副詞ですが、TICAの「Standard」でそれほど多く出てくる言葉ではありません。

特に「Distinctly curved profile」という使い方は、「Toybobo」が初めてです。



その後に出てくる「dip」は「くぼみ、へこみ」を意味する英単語ですが、「Profile」にだけで使われる言葉で、やはりそんなに多くの猫種で使われているわけではありません。

JAPANESE BOBTAIL (JB/JBL) Profile: A gentle dip at or just below eye level

TONKINESE (TO) Profile: Slight convex curve from top of head to just above eyes, dipping to a gentle stop at or just below eye level, with no appearance of a break. Cheekbones are high and gently planed.

KURILIAN BOBTAIL (KB/KBL) Profile: Flat to ever-so-slightly rounded forehead with a very slight dip at the eyes and a straight nose.

MANX BREED (MX/CY) Profile: Gentle nose dip with a moderately rounded forehead.

TURKISH VAN (TV) Profile: Slight dip below eye level marked by a change in direction of hair growth.

ちなみに、HIGHLANDER (HG/HGS)だと、「PENALIZE」のところに「dip」が出てきて、:「Excessive dip in the nose」と規定されています。

HEADの中で「Ears」を見てみましょう。HEADの中では「Eyes」（15点）に次ぐ、8点を占めています。

そして、その記述は「Eyes」同様、プレゼン資料の図を併せて読むと、分かりやすくなっています。

「Medium sized, with rounded tips. Set is medium broad, slightly tilted forward.Ears not set less than an ear's width apart」－－。

特に後半部分の「Ears not set less than an ear's width apart」は図があってこそ理解できる表現かもしれません。



また、中程に出てくる「tilted」は「傾いている、傾斜している」を意味し、他の猫種ではRAGDOLL(RD)、JAPANESE BOBTAIL(JB/JBL)、DONSKOY(DSK)、AUSTRALIAN MIST(AUM)の「Ears」のところに出て来ます。

（RD）Ears: Medium in size, broad at base, rounded tip. Set as much on top of the head as on the side, slightly tilted forward.

(JB/JBL) Ears: The ears are large, upright and expressive. They are wide set, but at right angles to the head, rather than flaring, and give the impression of being tilted forward in repose.

(AUM) Ears:tilted slightly forward

(DSK):Ears: Large, wide open, wide at the base, set upright and tilted slightly forward, neither low nor on top of the head.

ちなみに、耳のサイズを明確に「Medium」と規定している猫種にはAS, BU, MX, PB, RDがいます。

「Toybob」のプレゼン資料によると、HEADの配点が一番大きく、40点となっており、このうち15点が「Eyes」に割り振られています。

しかも、その記述はかなり具体的です。

「Wide open, large and round with a slightly surprised look, and set wide apart. Eye color is intense deep blue」－－。

プレゼン資料には図も添えられており、「目と目の間隔＝a」「目の横幅＝b」とした場合、「a＝b」であるとも図示してあります。

目の色の定義もかなり具体的で、「intense deep blue」となっています。（※intense＝強烈な、非常に強い）

ちなみに、全猫種の「Standard」を見渡しても、「intense」という単語が使われている猫種は少なく、特に目の色に関してはBS／BLで、「Intense, eye color preferred」という記述があるぐらいです。

「Wide open, large and round」で、しかも「intense deep blue」が求められるとなると、15点の配点も頷けるというものかもしれません。

来シーズン（2017年5月）から、RO（Registration Only）への昇格が決まった「Toybob」についてご紹介したいと思います。

とは言っても、私は「Toybob」のブリーダーでも専門家でもありませんから、「Toybob」そのものについて詳しく解説できるわけではありません。

このブログでは、「Toybob」のプレゼン資料やそこに載っている「Standard（案）」を辿りながら、他の猫種の「Standard」との違いがどこにあるのかという観点から考えたいと思います。

まず、基本知識ですが、「Toybob」はロシアのウラル地方原産の猫とのことです。

名前にある通り、「Bobtail」で「Pointed」。さらに世界一小さいとも言われる体型が特徴です。

重さは、成猫のFemaleで2kgに満たない（adult female is less than 4.5 pounds）となっています。（※1 pound＝0.45359237 kg）

成猫のMaleはだいたい2.27 kg（Full grown Toybobs weigh around 5 lbs. with males slightly heavier than females）ということです。



小型の純血種というと、日本でもシンガプーラ（SG）がおなじみですが、SGのTorsoが「Medium to small」なのに対し、「Toybob」のTorsoは「Smaller than medium」ですから、SGでは「Medium」が許容されても、「Toybob」は「Medium」ではだめということになるでしょう。

ちなみに生まれた時の体重は35～55gで、その後、急速に成長し、だいたい1歳半で成猫として成熟するそうです。
