【TICAルール改正案】2017 Spring Board Meeting 議案から(3)

今回、紹介するルール改正案は、ジャッジとサバンナ（SV）ブリーダーにとっては重要と言えそうです。

実は、中国におけるショーで、「明らかに外見上、Serval Catと思われる猫」が「F1 Savannah」として”認定”されたことが物議を醸しています。

そのショーに参加していた3人のジャッジが、その猫が「01T」の「Registration Status Codes」を持つ「F1 Savannah」として”認定”したことに関してです。

ここで少し、「Registration Rules」についておさらいしましょう。

TICAナンバーの冒頭には3文字（数字）の記号が付いており、一般的に「SB」＋「T」や「V」や「P」などとなっています。

「SB」はStud Book Codesの頭文字で、「SB - The cat has no cats which are unknown, unregistered, or of another breed or breed group within a standard three generation pedigree」を意味します。

例えば「SBT」だと、最後の「T」はTraditionalの頭文字で、「Ｔ- Only the breed in question within a threegeneration pedigree」、「SBV」なら「V」はVariantの頭文字で、「V - Crosses outside the breed but within the group within a three-generation pedigree」を示します。

では、「01T」は何かというと、「01」はAncestry Record Codesを示し、「01 - The cat has at least one unknown or unregistered parent」を意味します。（※このCodesは「SB」に該当しない場合に使い、「01」～「03」まであります）

つまり、3人のジャッジが「01T」と”認定”したということは、この「明らかに外見上、Serval Catと思われる猫」が、「The cat has at least one unknown or unregistered parent」で、かつ「Only the breed in question within a threegeneration pedigree」であるとなります。

しかし、TICA登録証のCodesを良くご存知のジャッジ、ブリーダーなら、ここまでの話でお分かりかと思いますが、「明らかに外見上、Serval Catと思われる猫」が「01T」であるはずがなく、「F1 Savannah」であるはずもないのです。

このような事態を受け、SVブリードコミッティーのメンバーが同コミッティーを代表して「Registration Rules」の改正案を出しました。

次の項目を加えるというものです。

36.3.1.3. Any cat descended from a nondomestic feline source and whose appearance is so similar to that of the nondomestic source species as to be indistinguishable from it, shall only be registered as the nondomestic source species and not as the TICA registered domestic breed, and be allocated the code 01S (see 36.8.2.5).

要は、中国のショーで現れたような、「明らかに外見上、Serval Catと思われる猫」」の場合、「01T」ではなく、「01S」とすべきだという提案です。

ちなみに、「S」はSpeciesの頭文字で、「Outcrosses to species other than Felis catus/Felis domesticus. Such crosses may be used in foundation breeding
programs but are by definition considered non-permissible」と定義付けられています。

SVコミッティーにしてみれば、中国のショーで起きたようなことを放置しておくと、今後、「明らかに外見上、Serval Catと思われる猫」が「SBT Savannah」として審査される事態に発展しかねないと憂慮しているようです。
